Recommended level for Junior Strings – RCM Strings Grade 6 to 8 (exams not required)
Recommended level for Debut Strings – RCM String Grade 3 to 5 (exams not required)
Audition includes:
- Solo piece – Choose a complete piece of solo repertoire or full movement of a concerto that demonstrates your best skills and abilities. Adjudicators may ask for the full piece or selected passages.
- Excerpts – Choose 3 out of 5 given excerpts (see below)
- Scales and Arpeggios – Choose 1 out of 3 options (see below)
- Sight-Reading
