Annual Workshops
VYSO workshops have taken place each fall for many years, for all orchestra levels, and the Debut and Junior Orchestras have an additional workshop in April. There is no additional cost to musicians—workshops are included in tuition. The fall workshops are designed for musicians to get to know each other better, to make new friends, and to get the season off to a fun and strong musical start!
Senior and Intermediate Orchestras
The Senior and Intermediate Orchestras take part together in a weekend workshop in September at Capilano University in North Vancouver. The workshop includes extensive small sectionals with some of the finest professional musicians in the Lower Mainland, and concludes with a combined VYSO Intermediate/Senior Orchestra open rehearsal on Sunday afternoon at the BlueShore Financial Centre for the Performing Arts at Capilano University. Family and friends are encouraged to attend this season-opener event!
Junior and Debut Orchestra
Our Junior and Debut Orchestras enjoy a 1-day workshop twice a year. Workshops include small sectionals and full rehearsals, as well as recreational time and social activities.
