Notable Guest Artists
VYSO students have the privilege of being inspired and guided by the work of guest musical artists, including notable conductors, composers and renowned performers in the freelance musical community of Metro Vancouver. Our guest artists are affiliated with: Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Bach Choir, Vancouver Opera, Vancouver Academy of Music, University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Borealis String Quartet, Infinitus Trio, The Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and Victoria Symphony.
Soloists
Our musicians have an opportunity each year to compete to perform as soloists with their orchestras. Please see Annual Concerto Competition for more information
The VYSO presents approximately 6 to 8 concerts each year. Led by acclaimed professional Conductors, Dr. Jonathan Girard, Nico Stephenson and Nadia Petriw, performances take place in both community settings and professional venues.
