In consideration of the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra Society providing continuing membership and services to me, the musician, and other good and valuable considerations, I, the musician, and my parent/guardian, including representative heirs, executors, administrators, successors, assigns, committees, trustees and agents (as the case may be), HEREBY WAIVE, REMISE, RELEASE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE the VYSO from any and all manner of actions, causes of action, suits, proceedings, liabilities, obligations, debts, contracts, claims and demands or damage of any nature or kind whatsoever arising from my attendance at and participation in any rehearsal and camp activity. In this release, the “VYSO” includes the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra Society and its respective directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteer assistants, predecessors, successors, assigns, liquidators, receivers, managers and trustees. I have read this liability release form and I full understand its content

Students under 13 years of age must be dropped off and picked up from the rehearsal room. VYSO staff are not responsible for students before or after rehearsal time. Students 13+ may leave on their own.

The VYSO promotes wonderful concerts and work of its talented musicians. This means that the VYSO may send out concert information and press releases as well as information and photographs to the media for articles and interviews. The VYSO Annual Lottery guarantees the VYSO necessary funds to provide a strong vibrant program. The VYSO Annual Lottery is the only fundraising program members are asked to participate in. Members are given 2 options:

Do you want to participate as a volunteer for the VYSO?

If YES, please provide ONE cheque postdated for May 31, 2020 by the first day of rehearsal on September 7. Your cheque will not be cashed if you complete 10 hours of volunteering by the end of the Season. If you choose not to participate in volunteering, $200.00 will be added to your total fee, to be exempt from volunteering.

Police Record Check

Effective September 2018, the VYSO will be taking an additional step to insure the ultimate safety of VYSO musicians. Police Record Checks will be required for all volunteers working directly with musicians. If you think you would like to volunteer as a concert, sectional or workshop chaperone, please contact the office and you will be given a web link and password to achieve this FREE Police Record Check, conveniently online.
